My mom, sister, and I took our foster dog, Hannah and went for a walk today in the Metro Parks. The weather was absolutely beautiful, a little bit warm but still cool enough for spring time weather. The trail was left with grass which made it nice and soft on our feet. On either side of the trail there were tall grasses and flowers that came up to our shoulders. I wish I had taken my camera, we could see for ages and it was so gorgeous!
The trail was about 1.5 miles, had a few hills, and was a tad bit muddy, but it was fun. When we started out we should have picked up a map. About halfway through, Hannah was getting tired and we had brought water with us but left it in the car. We didn't realize that the trail was a circle and were beginning to think that maybe we were lost. When we were about to turn back the way we had come (it was starting to rain) we just kept walking and it led us back to our car! I think we will definitely go again, with a map though. When we got home we checked Hannah for ticks and found none, thankfully.
About two hours later my mom came in and said "Is this a tick? I found it on my head." She had put it in alcohol to kill it. We checked on Google and sure enough it was a tick. She had felt it crawling around and pulled it out of her hair. Yuck! Luckily it hadn't actually bitten into her, but now we all feel itchy. Enjoy those BB-Q's!
