Success!

On October 31st, Malachi finally got his toe in his mouth after working at it for about a day!  He was excited!  (And he is in his Halloween costume- a little pumpkin and so cute to boot.  Our ward didn't have Trunk or Treat so that was the best we did, just dressed him up and took a few photos.)

Everybody comments on how happy Mali always is, and it's true- he is such a happy baby!  Always smiling, content, and flirty, oh so flirty with girls. :)  He just turned 5 months old on the 12th and these have been the best 5 months!  I just love my baby so much!  He has brought such joy to our lives and I'm so grateful that I have the wonderful privilege and opportunity to be his mama.

Relish the present

I need to remember this. So very true.

Ahh, Blogger changed on me while I was away!

Malachi has gone from this-a little 4 pound 15 ounce baby, on his way home from the hospital...
To this...a handsome, round, smiley, joy-in-our-lives little man...
I just have to say- I hate it when he goes to bed because that means the next day he will be one day older. Since he's my little buddy during the day it makes me sad for him to go to bed.

I know every mother says this, but is he really almost four months old? Time is going way too fast!

A few of my favorites from the last month and a half...

It is hard to believe that Malachi is 3 months old today! At ten weeks old he weighed 11 pounds 9 ounces which means he has more than doubled his birth weight. He is smiling all the time now and growing like a weed and I don't want to miss any of it. We just love him! (The photos are in reverse order- the oldest time wise are at the bottom...meaning he's younger in those photos).

Cheeks

I love to give him lots of kisses on his perfectly round (and getting rounder) cheeks. And we can't imagine life without him now. He's just wonderful.

Babies are such nice way to start people

Thanks for all the comments on my last post announcing Malachi's birth!

I can't believe Malachi is already three weeks old!

It makes me sad that he is growing so fast. I'm trying to hold onto every second that I have while he is little. I don't want to miss any of it so I have trouble putting him down... I love kissing his cheeks and head and snuggling him and patting his little bum. And just knowing that he is ours forever!

My parents we able to be there for his birth as well as my sister. My parents stayed for two weeks and left on June 25th. It was SO nice to have them here to help us! Jesse's parents will be here this Friday and my parent's are coming back into to town so Malachi will be blessed this coming Sunday.

A week after Malachi was born, was my sister's birthday. We were all able to go out to eat to celebrate .

Here she is holding Malachi! (That is a newborn onesie and it's still too big on him!)

Here I am holding Malachi!

(Photos taken from my mom's blog).

Some facts about our Malachi:

-When we left the hospital he was 4 pounds 15 ounces. His car seat was so big for him.
-At his two week appointment he was 5 pounds 7 ounces!
-He loves to have his hands near his face. He sleeps with his hands and arms above his head or on/near his face.
-We named his Malachi Michael after grandfathers on both sides of our families. Jesse's great-great-great grandfather was named Malachi and my father's name is Michael.
-He wakes up about every two hours to eat during the night and about every three hours during the day.
-He is a very bunchy baby. He tucks his legs and feet up under him while he is being held.
-He makes the cutest little pucker face where he puckers his lips and raises his eyebrows so he gets wrinkles in his forehead. It looks like he is getting ready for a kiss (picture of this coming soon!).
-He has several nicknames already:
Malley and babykins (me and sometimes Jesse)
Mousekawitz and mister mister (Jesse)
Malleykins (my sister)
Our teeny little super guy (Jesse and I)

I'm still working on the birth story, but I just wanted to give a quick update!
