Tuesday...all day long.

I woke up at 3am this morning because it was raining outside (which is what I told myself), but subconsciously here was the reason....

You see, I've waited for this day, well, technically tomorrow, ever since I learned I had 20 hours of vacation, and in my sleeping mind I actually thought today was tomorrow... and gosh darn it, I needed to be awake in order to get important things done.

Because in my mind, today I was going home! But then I woke up enough and realized today was today and I was sad because it wasn't tomorrow.

And I went back to sleep until 6:45. Then I got up and ate yogurt, oatmeal, and a hard-boiled egg with salt for breakfast.

Today and tomorrow are going to be the longest two days ever of my life. The anticipation is killing me.

P.S. If you've read the Harry Potter series, please answer this question in the comments section: Does Ron, Hermione, or Harry die at the end of the series? Please elaborate if necessary. Thank you in advance.

P.P.S. (or is it P.S.S?) Happy two days before Thanksgiving!!

Be back tomorrow?

His Promises are Sure

In my Patriarchal blessing it promises me that I'll get sealed in the temple and have a family. Some days I look at my current life and wonder if maybe I have somehow interpreted His promises wrong...that maybe the promises won't happen.

But then, in quiet moments, the Lord kindly and lovingly reminds me that He made the promises and that He intends to keep them. That He will keep them, and fulfill them in His own due time.

I feel somewhat like Abraham did, wondering how the Lord would make of Isaac a righteous generation when he was on the altar. Or how Zacharias felt when the angel told him his (very) old wife would have a son. Or how Hannah felt when she longed for a son but was unable to have one.

I really don't know how the Lord will fulfill His promises to me, but I do know that however it happens, there will have to be miracles involved. It can't happen any other way.

But the Lord can do miracles. And He will for me...in His due time.

As I trust in the Lord, He will fulfill His promises, no matter what they may be, as I do my part through faithfulness and obedience to Him.

Thankfulness...day 5

"They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them."

Today I am thankful for those men and women who defend our freedom.

Thank you, Veterans!

Thankfulness...day 3

Do you ever have those days where you just don't care or have no motivation?

Well, today is one of those days for me.

The problem is, I need to care because I have a Relief Society lesson I need to finish up for tomorrow and other things I need to get done.

And I don't want to be like Pierre either (and that's not the whole book...it's just to whet your appetite. You'll have to check it out from the library to find out what happens to him).

Nevertheless, this is what I am grateful for today (and I did miss yesterday).

Frances!
Especially this aspect (not whole book either) of Frances. She is just so darn cute.

Thankfulness...

It's already the 3rd of November (which means it's almost December which means it's almost 2011. Craziness!) and this month seems to have crept up on me.

Since this is Thanksgiving month after all, I will be doing a month of thanks.

Without further ado....

I am thankful for:

Temples

"Temple work is not an escape from the world but a reinforcing of our need to better the world while preparing ourselves for another and far better world. Thus, being in the Lord’s house can help us to be different from the world in order to make more difference in the world." Neal A. Maxwell

I am grateful for the availability of a temple so close to where I live. When I go, I feel the peace and love of my Heavenly Father.
